Intel Leader to Discuss Trends Influencing Future of Digital Signage
Jose Avalos
Jose Avalos, worldwide director of retail and digital signage for the Embedded and Communications Group at Intel Corp., will discuss "Key Trends Affecting the Future of Digital Signage" from 7:30 to 9 a.m. during today's keynote breakfast in N250.

Such trends include everything from the ongoing rise in customer expectations with respect to the richness of experience, interactivity and content in digital out-of-home venues, such as retail stores and malls, to the increased need of Anonymous Video Analytics for Proof of Play and Proof of Impression for advertising Return on Investment (ROI), to the challenges around increasing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of digital signage operations.

Most importantly, Avalos will discuss technology solutions to address market share, ROI, Return on Operations (ROO), TCO and consumer rising expectations with the premise that more relevant technology applied intelligently in digital signage venues is core to the solution.

"The digital signage and retail industries are transforming rapidly with consumers demanding a more personalized and connected experience in every facet of their lives whether online or in-store," Avalos said. "At the same time, advertisers require the ability to track their return on investments now more than ever, while offering unique brand interaction through multiple in-store touch points. Attendees will learn that the technology to meet these needs is available today."

Avalos is responsible for delivering the company's intelligent retail and digital signage platforms, as well as initiatives to fuel the growth of the industry. He has a multi-faceted career with numerous general management and director level positions at Intel in business, marketing and engineering. Prior to his current role, Avalos was general manager of Intel's Ultra-wideband Networking Operation. He is a 23-year veteran of the semiconductor industry with the past 21 years at Intel. He received his BS EE from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and his MSE in EE from the Arizona State University. In addition, he has completed executive leadership programs at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and at the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

"Attendees will learn more about the value of deploying intelligent and integrated digital signage solutions in a seamless way that benefits both the retailer and the consumer," Avalos added.
